We sometimes meet with practices that talk about their doctors being “lazy”.   We all know no doctor is lazy.   Just getting to medical school, let alone completing and moving successfully through residency means that they were not lazy.  Now, if we talk about not wanting to punch meaningless buttons and checking boxes that dont improve patient care, then we might have something.

It is essential that during the implementation of a new EMR that you make sure you minimize the clicks that a doctor must make by using templates and best practices.   Talk to your vendor or an experienced consultant about the best way to utilize your EMR to shave precious seconds from your physicians documentation time.
